Grounded
Grounded is an active meditation app designed for people who process best through movement, nature, and reflection. Instead of sitting still in a quiet room, users are guided through audio prompts during nature walks—or can join virtual walks from home for a calming, immersive experience.

The challenge
Most meditation platforms rely on sitting still, deep breathing, or guided body scans. But that model excludes people who feel anxious, fidgety, or disconnected from traditional approaches.
Users felt alienated by apps like Calm and Headspace
No app offered reflection prompts while walking outdoors
Those unable to walk outside (due to disability or location) were left out entirely
The process
The app prototype resonated deeply with testers—especially those with nontraditional meditation styles. Grounded became a safe, accessible way to reflect, breathe, and reset without needing silence or stillness.
86% of testers preferred Grounded over traditional meditation apps
92% completed a full 10-minute active session on first try
100% of disabled testers said the remote watch feature made them feel “included”
Received early interest from wellness coaches and digital retreat programs
